Wow what a feeling, retirement is almost here for most of the baby boomers that are retiring soon. Everyone looks forward to those good ole lazy days in the sunshine, relaxing by the lake. No more office politics. No more bosses.
Many people though are not looking to just sit around and watch the sun come up and go back down. These days they are planning trips, golfing, and where I live even surfing 'old guys rule' around here.
So for many the cost of retiring soon is not what it used to be. With social security uncertainty, health care costs escalating, the financial crisis, many people feel like they may not have enough to last through those golden years living the lifestyle that we have become accustomed to.
Now take into account the fact that many people are living those active lifestyles so much later in life. Especially with all those berries and miracle potions people are selling these days :-)
I really don't want to sound unsettling or try to scare anyone, its just with the medical advances and the type of society that we live in, we expect a certain degree of comfort in our life journey.
Besides with most people living a healthier lifestyle, many are able to take on hobbies that can become very lucrative to help support those retirement dreams of traveling to Sydney. Oh sorry, that's my dream.

Why toss out all of that 'experience' and just leave the young folks hangin? There are people out there that could really benefit from your experience and who would really value your input.
Many employers are now respecting this and offering positions and becoming more receptive to hiring seasoned employees that are baby boomers retiring soon. But wait a minute, weren't you looking to retire so that you wouldn't have to go to work? You wanted your freedom right?
Well many baby boomers have started a home business. Thousands are earning an additional income without the boss while retaining the freedom to work on something that they are much more passionate about.

This is really great if you plan to work from an RV and visit all of the campsites in the country like my wife and I plan to do in the next year or so.
